Solidarity Xmas Tree

Solidarity Xmas Tree is a charity event in which well-known brands are responsible for bringing unique Christmas trees to life to auction them off for charity. This year, on the occasion of the 8th edition of the charity event, Inés Ybarra and her team combined the idea of a tree outside the norms, trying to make visible the historical and artisan work shared by Suarez and La Real Fábrica de Cristales de La Granja.

What does a jewelry house like Suarez represent for you?

Inés Ybarra: "For me, Suárez represents excellence, tradition, family and personalized service. The difference between Suárez and other jewelry brands is that when you enter their boutiques, you enter their home. Everything is made with great care and love."

What were the main sources of inspiration for bringing the concept of the Solidarity Xmas Tree to life?

The wax tree was an essential element in the history of jewelry, it is used to create pieces through the lost wax casting technique. It was the key structure that motivated the following steps in the creation process.

"This automatically led me to Alexander Calder's mobiles and the interaction that his works require."

"This is exactly what we wanted, to return to the world of interaction through these figures with different shapes and colours, so that the viewer can gradually discover the tree."

The Suarez and Chopard trees received the highest bids, going for €55,000 and €47,000 respectively, followed by the Steffano Ricci tree, which fetched €38,000. The Suarez tree in particular stood out for its original design, conceived by designer and influencer Inés Ybarra. (Full article in EL PAÍS
